The Company Corvette is from Pennsylvania, USA, and is;

Alexei - Guitar
Ross - Bass/Vocals
Zach - Drums

Since 'Never Enough' was released a month or so ago, there have been numerous comparisons to New Orleans Brethren Eyehategod, and if you really listen through the heavily wah afflicted riffs, and dissect their molten blues based core, thats fair enough. However, its the use of the wah-wah pedal which makes The Company Corvette  an altogether different proposition. If you consider Eyehategod as the fibrous crust formed over an open wound, then The Company Corvette has to be the glutinous gunk beneath. Sleaze is a description that springs to mind, the riffs of Alexei Korolev drenched in mucus. This band doesn't do clean. While the majority of bands who play this particular brand of stoner doom attempt a little spit and polish in the mix, The Company Corvette, leaves a residue of grit under the fingernails.

I listen to a LOT of this type of music, and still enjoy it, but sometimes you can't help but be underwhelmed by the crowd, but I do have a love affair with stoner doom that makes you wrinkle your nose and gag a little. 'Never Enough' by The Company Corvette does that in spades. There is a whiff of toxicity with this album that not many bands of this ilk manage to attain, Sourvein is another that can capture it. 2015 was a remarkable year for quality underground metal releases, 2016 has continued that trend, and there will be many a bloggers furrowed brow trying to compile their 'best of' lists at the end of the year. 'Never Enough' by The Company Corvette has just made it that much harder.
