FUNEST - Desecrating Obscurity

Yes, yes, I know it sounds like Entombed, but don't you get it? For those of us who love the  Swedish death metal sound, it doesn't matter. What does matter is when a band shoves that guttural buzz saw guitar sound right down your fucking throat....and Funest does that by the shovel load, who thought that asphyxiation could be so much fun. 'Desecrating Obscurity' is a relentless barrage, flowing seamlessly, track by glorious track.

That 'Desecrating Obscurity' propels Funest to the highest echelons of Entombed worshipping death metal bands shouldn't really come as such as surprise considering the pedigree of individual band members here, particularly if you include the likes of Fuoco Fatuo, Daemoniac (who have an album out in 2017 via Extreem Records) and Undead Creep.

No, there is nothing groundbreaking here, but it's heavy, unrelenting in its ferocity, and every now and then will relent into a windpipe clogging doom interlude.

Fucking choke on it.
